Today we wanted to visit Hvitserkur, which is located at the northern part of Iceland. We wanted to see the Hvitserkur basalt stack which is located at the eastern shore of Vatnsnes peninsula. This place is known for bird colonies too. It was supposed to be 222km drive. Instead of boring you with my stories, I will let the pictures describe what we witnessed today. We had to take a U-turn just 10 km away from Hvitserkur as the car was being dragged to the sides due to heavy winds. Also there was zero visibility due to the muddy puddles. But the whole trip was worth the twin rainbows which moved along with us on our route. The long drive was worth the wild nature we could witness.
