From Roldal to Gudvangen, we had to drive till Ullensvang and continue on E13 towards Voss. On the way, we visited the Tvindefossen Waterfall.
Tvindefossen:
This waterfall is around 12km from Voss on the way to Flam. One can park the vehicle in the parking lot and walk near to the waterfall.
Gudvangen Valley:
To reach Gudvangen from Voss, we drove on E16. As we wanted to explore the way Stalheimkleiva, we took the Stalheimvegen which lead us to Stalheim Hotel. As we had read about Stalheim Hotel and the view of Gudvangen Valley from the terrace of Stalheim hotel, we went inside the Hotel, ordered a Coffee and got access to Terrace. The View was spectacular.
We had booked Cabin at Gudvangen Camping. There was one more camping on the other side of the road, “Vang Camping”. Though the facilities at the Gudvangen camping were not extraordinary compared to other Camping locations we stayed, it was special because of the location. Sitting at the porch of the Cabin, one can have good view of Kjelfossen. Among the 3 that we see in the below picture, the Largest of the 3, the one on the left is the Kjelfossen. The middle one, the Vetle Kjelfoss. The 3rd one does not seem to have a name.
Our Cabin at Gudvangen Camping.
The camping has several Cabins with attached bathroom and toilet. Also shared bathrooms and Toilets which normally cost lesser. Also washing machines can be used by paying nominal amount.
In the evening as the sun starts going down, the waterfalls on the mountains starts displaying rainbows. I was so impressed with the location that I did not want to go inside the Cabin and sleep. Instead wanted to spend whole night sitting on the grass in front of our Cabin and keep watching the waterfalls. We had Pasta and ready to eat soups for dinner. Sat on the steps of the Cabin without my Camera allowing the serenity of the nature to embrace our minds.
We stayed at Gudvangen Camping for 2 nights. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
